# Level 1 Complex Certification Pathway

The L1C pathway prepares you for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations.
**Step 1: Enroll in the Level 1 Complex Ground School ($99)** 20-hour online course at academy.rpascentre.com/course/l1c-exam-prep
**Step 2:** As part of your Level 1 Complex Ground School, you are required to complete **one live instructor check-in;**
Choose the option that works best for your schedule:
* Book a meeting or call with the RPAS Centre team
* Join an RPAS Centre Live Chat
* Attend any live RPAS Centre instructor-led seminar
  **Step 3: Earn your RPAS Centre L1C Certificate**
  **Step 4: Take the Transport Canada Level 1 Complex Exam** Through the Drone Management Portal.
  **Step 5: Book and pass a Level 1 Complex Operations Flight Review** Find a reviewer at rpaswilco.com/#/flight-review/map
  **Step 6: Apply for your L1C Operations Certificate through Transport Canada**
  **What does L1C unlock?** Everything Advanced allows, plus:
* Lower Risk BVLOS (over unpopulated/sparsely populated areas, uncontrolled airspace, 400ft AGL or below, 5NM+ from aerodromes)
